Flying as silently as the snow falling gently around it, a Barred Owl flies toward us framed by the deep green of a Minnesota forest behind. Without its classic call, this owl often goes completely unnoticed because of its ability to fly almost noiselessly through dense canopy and its calm perching demeanor. Originally from the east, the Barred Owl extended Westward over the last century and can now be found throughout the Pacific Northwest and California
