Wildlife photography of two bull elk with antlers in velvet in golden light of late summer in Yellowstone National Park

The velvet of their huge antlers glowing in the golden light of Summer, a pair of bull elk companionably browse a clearing in the aptly named Elk Park region of Yellowstone National Park. But once the rut is complete, bulls again go off to form “Bachelor Herds” in which they spend the long, hard Yellowstone Winters as friends and companions once more.
