Wildlife photography of an Alaskan Brown Bear running towards you, chasing sockeye salmon.

In late July and August, hundreds of thousands of sockeye salmon spawn in Funnel Creek, located in the Northeast portion of Katmai National Preserve. Both brown bears and rainbow trout follow the salmon up the river.  The rainbows feast on salmon eggs and grow to trophy size, whilst the bears grow fat slurping up eggs and munching on whole sockeye.  A male bear may consume up to 18 salmon per day. Meanwhile humans follow the bears and contentedly photograph them chasing the salmon.
