Napping blissfully on a Hallo Bay beach in Alaska’s Katmai National Park, it’s hard to imagine anything more relaxed that these Coast Brown Bears. Living amid annual salmon runs and beaches with plentiful clams, Coastal Browns enjoy a protein-rich diet and grow to enormous size. In fact, they are some of the largest bears and are thought to be less aggressive than their inland cousins, Grizzly Bears, because of their relatively easy access to food.
