Dancing with the Grass by Cindy Goeddel
Wildlife photography of a Blue Waxbill bird waving grass in his beak, dancing on a stump.
The blue waxbill is a common finch species found in Southern Africa with a beautiful courtship song and dance. The male grasps a long piece of grass in his beak and will dance while waving the grass around. He also sings while bobbing up and down and lifting his head high. This of course is irresistible to the female.
