Graceful Delivery by Cindy Goeddel
Wildlife photography of a male American Kestrel with wings outstretched bringing food to his female fledgling
Along a stretch of Bridger Creek Road in southern Montana, a male American Kestrel delivers breakfast to one of his four fledglings, a female experiencing her first morning out of the cavity nest. This wonderfully colorful bird is one of North America’s smallest raptors, with all the intensity of larger birds of prey. They eat insects, small rodents, reptiles, and sometimes other small birds.
