Waiting Out The Storm

$2,700.00$7,520.00

Four male Mountain Bluebirds and three much more camouflaged females huddle in tall, snow-covered grass and brush for protection from a severe snowstorm. I see more bluebirds in mild Winters because more survive in the less extreme conditions. During the coldest months, they are hard to find as they hunker down and shelter in areas that provide protection from the snow, ice and wind. Winter comes early and stays long in the Rocky Mountains, and while not common, brutal Winter storms can happen in May or September. But the wildlife of the Rockies is well-adapted and weather these events far better than their human counterparts when caught unprepared.
